Crabtree, Oregon is a seemingly sleepy town with a mixed history. A tourist destination for their rumored 'fairy companions' in the forest nearby, Crabtree itself only has a population of about 300. In a town so small it's almost impossible that anything could remain secret for long...
Unless, of course, the secret was guarded by magic. In the dense forest directly adjacent to the town reside the Unseelie and Seelie courts of fey.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Seelie Fey-
The Seelie fey are often called the summer faeries or the light faeries. To call them the good faeries would be a misnomer. Rather, they are the bright to the Unseelie dark. They are mischievous, as all faeries are, but rarely set out with the intention to hurt humans. Their court is beneath a weeping willow tree in the forest surrounded by a faerie ring. To enter, one must rap on the tree. If deemed worthy, the tree will open up into a staircase that leads into the main courtyard. They are currently led by a queen who is advised by a council of fey comprised of all species.
Leader: Mordred
Unseelie Fey-
Labeled as the 'dark' or 'winter' fey, the Unseelie fey generally have a more sinister tinge than their Seelie sisters. They lack qualms about hurting human beings, and generally look out first and foremost for their own self gain. However, this doesn't mean that they cannot form deep and lasting relationships, trust each other, or show kindness. Their first inclination is simply self interest. Their court lies just below a small bog. To enter, a drop of blood must be spilled into the water. Once the offering is presented, a whirlpool will clear the water away to reveal a set of stairs leading into the main courtyard. The bog is not choosy about who does and doesn't enter, for Seelie and Solitary fey do not generally enter the Unseelie court without good reason. They are currently led by a Ruler, although if the Ruler is challenged and killed in combat by someone, the winner is named the new Ruler.
Leader: Bastien
Solitary Fey-
The unaligned fey live outside of the court system. They follow no doctrine and obey only the Golden Rules of the faerie people. They may have been cast out of a court, left of their own accord, or simply born to parents outside the court system
Leader: N/A
Humans-
Mortal, non magical residents of the earth. A select few are blessed with The Sight, which means that they are able to see through the Glamour of the fey.

Golden Rules of the Faerie People-
1. Avoid human detection
2. Give into the world what you wish to receive
3. Touch not the iron of man, for it shall burn and brand you
Misc Guidelines-
1. All fey are affected by the touch of iron. The stronger the faerie, the less painful it is to touch. To an extremely weak faerie, iron can be poisonous. To an extremely strong faerie brief exposure will result only in a harsh nagging headache and a light burn when touched.
2. Most categories of faerie are in both courts WITH THE EXCEPTION OF kelpies, hobgoblins, ogres, gremlins, nereids, succubus and incubus belonging only to the unseelie and solitary fey and brownies, djinn, gnomes, tengu, and selkies belonging only to the seelie and solitary fey
3. If there is a recorded type of faerie (mythical magical creature), odds are there is at least one in each court. This includes giants, ogres, merpeople, nyphs, nyads, etc
4. All faeries have the ability to put on a glamour, which causes them to appear normal to mortal eyes. The stronger the faerie, the stronger the glamour. Faeries are able to choose their appearance while glamoured.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rules-
1. No godmodding (roleplay only for your own character)
2. No OP characters (your character must have flaws, should not be the most powerful)
3. Discuss big plot points with everyone first
4. Be nice!!!!

Important Locations-
Counterspell- A modest two story shop in town that caters to those magically inclined. It sells books of spells, potion and spell ingredients, candles, stones, sage, etc. The townsfolk just think that it's a quirky old shop, but it's well known among the fey as the only reliable magic shop in reasonable distance. It's currently run by Jyiinx, who inherited it from his mother. Seelie and Unseelie fey know it to be a neutral location that they are not allowed to fight at, since it's in the town.
The shop is a single room with another story above it. It has wall to ceiling shelves filled with books and magical supplies. The lighting is supplied by hanging lanterns; their colors are changed throughout the day. On the wall are some old pictures and scrolls, and opposite the door is the checkout counter.
Enchant- Being the only night club in a small town has it's perks; Enchant is packed every night with all types of people...and fey. It's an incredibly popular location for the local fey to mingle and, like all places in town, it's a neutral zone for the two courts. Humans have been known to disappear from the club, but they're generally tourists. Fey know better than to take many locals.
The building used to be a warehouse, and still retains it's iron walls and support poles. It has a concrete floor, low pulsating lights, and a huge surround sound system. One entire wall is a bar, and the small bathrooms on the other side are a breeding ground for shady activity. The older locals complain about it, but there's not much they can do.
